The Foundation´s board of directors:

Chairman: Professor Bengt Häger
Other board members:
Ellen Rasch, première danseuse
Gunilla Jensen Peyron, dramaturge and dance critic

The Carina Ari Award 2001:

The Carina Ari Foundation Gold Medal for 2001 was awarded to the choreographer and dancer Merce Cunningham.

The motivation of the jury was:

  • For his numerous important guest performances in Sweden, including a world première in Stockholm,
  • for generously accepting young Swedish dancers at his school,
  • and for opening up new, unforeseen dimensions in the art of movement for us all.
